Hi
Victuallers, I wanted to touch base on the subject of mentioning the publisher and publication date. I see you've deleted this info twice as advertising but for my money (...pun acknowledged tho not intended!), knowing where and when a book was published has intellectual worth--knowing what imprint put it out and when can provide important context. The WikiProject Book appears to concur, including this info in
their article guide as well as their
infobox. I've certainly seen instances of inappropriate advertising with things like Amazon external links in the body of the entry, and I always delete those, but I'm not sure why mentioning the publisher at all is necessarily advertising. Maybe I'm missing something?

I think the publisher is of use and should be mentioned in the references together with Isbn etc. Placing it in the lede (to me) makes it look like marketing for the book rather than an encyclopedia biography. Wuthering Heights is a great book but not sure its publisher would be mentioned in the lede of Bronte biog. (but as WikiProject Book say it may be important in the books article). Its not a biggy. Thanks for your great work.
