It is said that he is younger, but when was he born? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.108.103.172 ( talk) 17:36, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
The linked articles do not mention a connection between Karzai and the Zetas. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.17.114.54 ( talk) 21:01, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
The article makes it sound like he worked as a busboy or something. The Karzai family owned the Helmand restaurant in Lakeview, which Ahmad ran, and it was well-reviewed locally. Chicago Tribune report. 75.60.7.172 ( talk) 16:42, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
I created/cropped to File:Ahmad Wali Karzai in 2010 (cropped).jpg which is a superior image which I suggest we use for the infobox. Cloutgalego ( talk) 18:32, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
In Afghanistan it is commonly spelled as Ahmad, and I believe that his U.S. documents has his first name as Ahmad.-- AlimNaz ( talk) 18:46, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
The correct way to spell the name is Ahmad Wali Karzai, not just because people in Afghanistan commonly spell their names this way (i.e. Ahmad Shah Durrani, Ahmad Shah Massoud, Ahmad Zia Massoud, Ahmad Wali, Ali Ahmad Jalali, Ahmadzai, Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai etc.), but the BBC News and others have it this way. BBC is known to be more accurate when they report news. Just because a few news editors wrongly put it as "Ahmed" doesn't mean that Afghans must change their names from "Ahmad" to "Ahmed" or every encyclopedia must write it that way. News reporters don't waste time about learning which way is the correct way to spell it, especially when they have to quickly write an article about someone who just died. In an encyclopedia we are not short of time and we have to be as accurate as possible. Also, Karz is not a different town, it is considered part of the city of Kandahar and is located on the outskirts (southeastern) of that city. See this Panoramio map. In Afghanistan cities do not have border limits as you may see in most developed countries.-- NorthernPashtun ( talk) 20:24, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
The 2 opposers of "Ahmad", JohnCengiz77 ( talk · contribs) and Heironymous Rowe ( talk · contribs), appear as people from Turkey and in their country people are commonly named Ahmed. See Ahmad#Transliterations. I feel that they are imposing their Turkish POV here on the Afghans by persistenly changing the sujbect's name from Ahmad to Ahmed. I find this is very foolish.-- NorthernPashtun ( talk) 20:54, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
These include official Afghan government and United Nations as well as BBC and other most reliable international and local Afghan most trusted news sources. These are just a few, there are many more sources for Ahmad. On the contrary, the sources who use "Ahmed" are just unfamiliar news editors. They made their own choice by spelling it as Ahmed instead of Ahmad. Nobody that I know of yet is named Ahmed in Afghanistan.-- NorthernPashtun ( talk) 21:46, 8 November 2011 (UTC)

This fawning piece of propaganda has no place on wikipedia and is shameful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.224.211.40 ( talk) 01:37, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
Shouldn't there be a separate article on his assassination? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ypnypn ( talk • contribs) 15:45, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
It is neither necessary nor practical to list all of the 'NATO Personnel' and 'World Leaders' in this article. As long as there is a reference to a list of the leaders who commented there is no need to add a list of people in this article. Unless perhaps someone would like to add an article of their comments towards this event like how it was done with the recent terrorist attacks in India. I have removed the [who?] tag for this purpose. YuMaNuMa ( talk) 06:09, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
I have tag the introduction as being inadequate it pretty much just jumps from one stage of his life into another stage with simple 1 sentence summaries and comparing the introduction to the length of the article, it's pretty short. YuMaNuMa ( talk) 06:12, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
I added an extra sentence in there to just briefly cover some of the controversy, but it still may need to be fleshed out. Kirby777 ( talk) 09:07, 12 July 2014 (CST)
It dwarfs the rest of the article. We should shorten it, and expand (a little) sections on Karzai's actual role in Afghanistan during the U.S. war and occupation. That role is why he is a somewhat important person in the modern history of Afghanistan. Haberstr ( talk) 21:55, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
