The following is an archived discussion of the DYK nomination of the article below. Please do not modify this page. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as
this nomination's talk page,

Overall: The final sentence in the article (beginning, "His gravestone inscription...") doesn't have a citation and indicates an opinion rather than simple facts. A citation is needed for that. The initial sentence in the "Early years" section needs a citation since it doesn't state a fact (rather, it's a guess about where he was born). I've also listed a couple alternative hooks below. @

First, thanks very much for your review. ALT1 alters the chronological order of when Tannehill was named president of the two entities. I tried to list his various offices in time order. ALT2 adds his extortion conviction almost as an afterthought. I prefer devoting several sentences to its full context.

Found a clipping of the Flashbacks mention
Tfhentz - Seeing you're the FA editor I wanted to mention this on the article talk. Anyway, found a clipping off of Newspapers(dot)com for the Flashbacks mention of when Tannehill's grave was moved to Allegheny Cemetery but hesitate to add it - am concerned that the linkage etc will disturb your present referencing. Anyway, I'll post the citation's information here along with the cite web template below:
Hello
Shearonink, Thanks for your suggestion! I'm hesitant to add the link for the original Post-Gazette article because I fear the link will only be be available for a short period of time. I believe Newspapers.com is a pay-per-view site, so isn't there a limited time for access to any one article? I quote the article anyway; I think that's probably enough. I appreciate your interest.

Adamson Tannehill had no children, but his brother, Josiah, was also present in early Pittsburgh. Perhaps Ray is his descendant. Thanks for your interest!
