The word is written both with and without the accent on the last 'a' in this article. I'm assuming that to feature the accent is more correct, and it's omitted only out of laziness... so I'm going to fix it here.

John Cummings: It looks like you
copied in an annotated photo gallery from
Bananatex. I'm not against having some duplicated information, but it seems a bit too much, and it's overly specific to this Bananatex product (and process). I'd say remove it and just add a reference to Bananatex in the existing Textile section. --

Hi
Phyzome, thanks for your feedback. The reason I did this was this is the industrialised process for Manila hemp, not specific to Bananatex but how it is made in general. I managed to convince the company to release some of their images under an open license. I've just taken out some of the specific info to make it more of a generalised description of the process. Do you have any thoughts on how best to combine the two sections which talk about cultivation? I feel like the images are very helpful and want to make sure they're preserved. Thanks again,

Do you want to move the (moderately lengthy) article
Bananatex into a redirect? Otherwise known as renaming it. Or did you want to merge it into the redirect target
Abacá, an article about the parent plant of the fibre?

Roxy the dog, who wanted the latter and not the former, appears to have accidentally proposed the redirect as the merge target. I've fixed that. —

Oppose: one article is about a specific product (which passes notability), one is about a species. I agree there is some cross over in terms of content, I added a lot of the photos to both articles. I think if you were to merge them then almost all the content from the Bananatex article which isn't already in this article would get deleted as undue weight. I think this suggests there should be an article on Abaca fabric in general as well as for the plant.

Oppose. Bananatex seems to be a trademarked product with a specific manufacturer and manufacturing process. While it is still just basically abaca, it's still too specific to be merged into the general article.--
