This page should be moved to U.S. 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment to conform to other units in Wikipedia. WikiDon 02:45, 28 August 2005 (UTC)
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on

Isn't it highly unlikely that an 82nd paratrooper ( Robert P. Mathias) was the first casualty of D-day? As I understand, mission Albany (101st drop) started at around 00.48hrs whilst mission Boston (82nd drop) started about one hour later at around 01.51hrs. As the 101st airborne divison also suffered many casualties during their flight and drop it is more likely a 101st trooper / officer is the first American killed on D-Day.
