I moved "Westchester Tornado of July 2006" to "July 2006 Westchester tornado" to comply with Wikipedia:Naming conventions (events). -- Rosiestep ( talk) 23:46, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Shouldn't the name be something like July 2006 Westchester County tornado? The author said it was based off the Evansville tornado, but Evansville is a city, whereas Westchester in this instance is a county. I think it is really confusing leaving it only as "Westchester", given there is no city of Westchester in NY (there are five other cities of Westchester in the country, but no other Westchester counties). I was confused as to where the article was set when I looked at the title for the first time. Additionally, the National Weather Service (which is an official source for info), always mentions "Westchester County" about the tornado, never just "Westchester". Thoughts? ♬♩ Hurricanehink ( talk) 22:10, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
I think you could use a radar image in the met synopsis. I'm a little busy right now with some personal stuff, so I can't grab it right this second, but I suggest that you use IEM's warning browser, which has radar images and a bunch of other nifty stuff. The title of this article is "2006 Westchester County tornado," yet in the first sentence, it says that it touched down in Rockland County. I happen to live in Westchester, and Rockland is not in Westchester, as one county can't be in another. Could someone explain this?

"Authorities admitted they were embarrassed after originally believing the tornado had touched down in Newark, New Jersey and leveled the entire city. They later found out that all of New Jersey has the overall look and feel of a shithole, and quickly corrected their innocent mistake."
I wonder if this passage detracts from the value of the rest of the entry. Jocular references to other areas shortcomings, real or percieved, may not meet the standards of Wikipedia, in my opinion 64.56.53.2 ( talk) 20:24, 12 July 2009 (UTC)Skyrat
Thanks, RunningOnBrains. That really confused me. 69.124.141.217 ( talk) 00:09, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
In section Meteorological synopsis in some instances the time difference between EDT and UTC ist five hours, sometimes six, mostly four hours. According to the time zone article four hours seems to be correct but I don't want to change it because I actually don't know wether for the data in question EDT or UTC is correct. -- Matthiasb ( talk) 19:02, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
