Pigsonthewing: There were about four of these during WWI around 1918 and 1919. They are huge but I really don't know how we would divide them. I don't like the idea of having awards like A-M and then N-Z by recipient's last name. They are almost all military so couldn't do military vs civilian. I don't personally think they are hurting anything be so long, bc they are static lists that are divided well into sections. They are never edited unless someone wants to link a name, like just now I found a name that needed to be linked. And they rarely get much traffic so I don't think there is any kind of server load for the page, if is a concern. So I just don't see the point of dividing them bc it doesn't seem like the tag really applies (ie size makes it too difficult to navigate).

We could start by putting the Military Crosses into a separate article, then do the same for section 1.8, "The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire". In fact, the "MBE" section alone has over 1000 entries, which would justify a separate article. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing);
