This article contains a translation of Manntalið 1703 from is.wikipedia.

The sources simply refer to "the census", but in response to a query in a concealed comment and since it is also said that the originals have been lost for a few places, I have changed to "report" and "documents" in the paragraph about what became of the census after it was completed.
