Tal Canal is a Portuguese
social networking site where
users can share content, such as links, text, images, and videos, which other users can vote on and comment on. The content is posted in user-created
communities called "Canais" (
Portuguese for channels), which are centered around a topic. It's similar to
Reddit in its use and features.[1][2][3][4]
Tal Canal was created by Tânia Carvalho and André Santos, who together form the company "Icónica – Digital Design". The social network was launched in April 2022.[1][2][3][5]
A user shares content by posting it in the communities called "canais", where other users will vote and comment on it. The "canais" focus on a particular topic, with the users being able to choice which "canais" they wish to see, and also being able to create one.[1][2][3]
The posts are voted with positive and negative votes, with the balance of the votes being called "carma". A user with a negative "carma" may have their posts and comments rejected depending on the "canais".[2]
