Mutual intelligibility
the source given for the Macedonian language states it is closely related to Bulgarian and they have a high degree of mutual intelligibility. Plus that all South Slavic languages form a continiuum.

I think лимон (lemon) is a better example (the word is the same for both bg and mc) because in Bulgarian the final л is usially [ɫ] while before front vowels л is [l].
