Can someone in a position of authority please explain to me why only people of the Jewish faith are identified as such in Wikipedia? I never see anyone identified as Protestant or Catholic. Is Wikipedia in charge of keeping track of the Jews in America?

simply not true, Owen. just looked up three other foreign policy writers: Walter Russell Mead, John Mearsheimer, and Joseph Nye. none of them have ethnicity listed.

What is the relevance of the religious affiliation here? Unless Wikipedia wishes its readers to know who is a jew and who is not. are other scholars identified by their religion?

Is Wikipedia attempting to make sure that it's readers know who is a jew and who is not? I don't notice other scholars identified by their religion. Donald Kagan is a historian of ancient Greece. Of what relevance is it that he is of Jewish descent.

you are adding your PERSONAL editorial judgment as to what is appropriate and what is not. If we let that happen for every Wikipedia entry, then every person listed could be characterized by their political opponents as they saw fit.

The term is a subjective label and inappropriate. the reference to the organization that has been defunct for years belongs properly in the bio section.

I have never seen an entry like that elsewhere in Wikipedia. Will others' entries classify them as "liberal" or "left-liberal" ? I can find articles that cite everyone is some fashion. This is political prejudice. please stop.
