Notional empiricism: you have to know the specific theory in order to judge it (knowing the specifics is necessary). *
Metalogicism: you don't have to know each theory, only it's metalogical foundations (knowing the specifics isn't necessary). That is problematic, because metalogic itself isn't thorough, and no absolute foundations exist to be based generically on. === We have to mention it!
