Soodla Reservoir is located on Soodla river in Pillapalu Village, Anija Parish, Harju County, Estonia, near Kehra and Kuusalu.

The reservoir is part of the Tallinn water supply system and feeds Jägala, Aavoja and Pirita rivers with water through Raudoja Reservoir. Water flows from Soodla to Raudoja Reservoir through a 704 m (2,310 ft) long 1,000 mm (39 in) diameter steel pipe. [1]

The area of the reservoir is 271 ha (670 acres), average depth is 3.2 m (10 ft) and maximum depth is 13 m (43 ft). [2]

History

Plans to build the reservoir date back to 1975. The reservoir was built and flooded in 1981. [1] [3]
