"Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" ( Spanish: "Waka Waka (Esto es África)") is a song by Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira featuring South African band Freshlyground. It was released on 7 May 2010 by Epic Records as the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, which was held in South Africa. Written and produced by Shakira and John Hill, "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" is a pop song that pairs an African Colombian rhythm with a Soca-inspired beat. Its lyrics encourage one to aim for their goals like a soldier on a battlefield. The "waka waka" riff of the song was adapted from Cameroonian band Golden Sounds' 1986 song " Zangaléwa". The song initially generated controversy after numerous South Africans expressed disappointment in FIFA's decision to select Shakira to sing the song, opining that a native artist should have been assigned the role.

The song received generally favourable reviews from music critics, who complimented its composition. It has subsequently been listed as one of the best World Cup songs of all time. "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" peaked at number one on record charts of numerous countries including Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Spain and Switzerland.

The Lo Nuestro Award for Urban Album of the Year is an honor presented annually by American television network Univision at the Lo Nuestro Awards. The accolade was established to recognize the most talented performers of Latin music. The nominees and winners were originally selected by a voting poll conducted among program directors of Spanish-language radio stations in the United States and also based on chart performance on Billboard Latin music charts, with the results being tabulated and certified by the accounting firm Deloitte. However, since 2004, the winners are selected through an online survey.

The award was first presented in 2003 to Is Back by Panamanian performer El General, who also won the following year. Puerto-Rican American reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel is the most nominated act, with seven nominations, and also are the most awarded, with four wins. Their winning albums Wisin vs. Yandel: Los Extraterrestres (2009), Wisin & Yandel Presentan: La Mente Maestra (with DJ Nesty) (2010), La Revolucion: Evolucion (2011), and Líderes (2013), also reached number-one at the Billboard Latin Albums chart.

Suavemente (English: Smoothly) is the debut studio album by American merenguero recording artist Elvis Crespo. Released by Sony Music Latin on April 14, 1998, the album popularized merengue music and established Crespo as a leading artist in the Latin music market. He collaborated with several songwriters and record producers (including Homero d'Rodriguez, Raldy Vázquez, Luis Cruz, and Juan Perez), and wrote three songs creating an overall tropical music-flavored recording.

With romantic ballads and uptempo songs, Suavemente received favorable reviews from music critics who praised its "energetic" and "catchy fan-pleasing" songs. The album was the first merengue recording to peak at number one on the United States Billboard Top Latin Albums chart, and two of its singles (" Suavemente" and " Tu Sonrisa") peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart; Crespo is the first merengue artist with two number-one merengue singles. Suavemente peaked at number 106 on the US Billboard 200 chart. The album was Crespo's commercial breakthrough, introducing him to the popular music market with the Spanglish remix of its title track.
