The Pearson 28-2 is a recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, it has a balsa cored deck and wood trim. The design has a masthead sloop rig, an internally-mounted spade-type rudder and a fixed fin keel. [1] [3] [5]
The design has a length overall of 28.46 ft (8.7 m), a waterline length of 24.47 ft (7.5 m), displaces 7,000 lb (3,175 kg) and carries 2,550 lb (1,157 kg) of lead ballast.
