History

LianLian DigiTech was founded in 2009 and headquartered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. [2] [3]

Funding and partnerships

In 2018, Lianlian DigiTech raised 1 billion yuan (US$147 million) in its latest financing round backed by Sequoia Capital China and Boyu Capital. [4]

In 2020, LianLian entered into a joint venture agreement with American Express to establish Express (Hangzhou) Technology Services Company Limited (LianTong), which is licensed by the People's Bank of China ( Central bank of China) to provide bank card clearing services. [5] [6]
