Kinwar is a clan whose members belong to the Kshatriya, Kurmi and Bhumihar Brahmin caste. [1] the Kshatriya members principally reside in the states of Bihar and Eastern Uttar Pradesh. [2] A particularly large population of Kinwar Bhumihars can be found in Ghazipur district. [3] [4]
The founders of the Kharagpur Raj principality in Bihar were Kinwar Kshatriya. [5]
