At the 2006 census, its population was 2,909 in 741 households, when it was a village in
Khenejin Rural District of the
Central District of
Komijan County.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 2,745 people in 870 households,[8] by which time the rural district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Farahan County.[4] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 3,235 people in 1,041 households,[2] when the village had been elevated to the status of a city.[9]
