The Language Kanglish ( Kannada: ಕಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್) is a macaronic language of Kannada and English. a way of communicating verbally. This language has been locally derived lately, since 1993 onwards. Looking at the present trends and changes in the lifestyle and urbanization of the communities.
The name Kanglish is a portmanteau of the names of the two languages and was first recorded in 1993. Other less common terms are Kannalish (recorded from 2000), Kannadlish (2006), and Kanlish (2009). [1]
Presently, almost all urban and a few rural people converse in this language in Karnataka. This language is the result of the communication of English and Kannadigas.[ citation needed]
Kannadigas is a term obtained by adding the English suffix -s to Kannadiga to make it plural. Kannadigaru is the plural form in Kannada. Kannadiga is a masculine term; the feminine term is Kannadathi. Kannadigaru is majorly a masculine term. As opposed to Kannadatiyaru but is used when the genders of group members are unclear in context.
