KDT Nacional Sporting Club is a football club based in the Constitutional Province of Callao, Peru. It was founded on January 1, 1931, and participated in the First Division of Peru in two periods: the first from 1962 to 1964, and the second from 1968 to 1969, during national championships.

History

KDT Nacional Sporting Club was founded on January 1, 1931, by Gualberto Lizárraga. During the 1940s, it participated in the Regional League of Lima and Callao until 1950 when it won the title of this tournament and was promoted to the Second Division of Peru. In the 1954 tournament, it had its first major campaign in that category, competing for the title until the final date alongside Unión Callao, which ultimately achieved promotion.

In the 1959 Second Division, KDT Nacional lost the promotion to the First Division after a 1-0 defeat in the final match against Mariscal Sucre, with whom they shared the first place until that date. In the 1961 tournament, KDT Nacional won the Second Division title by defeating Unidad Vecinal No. 3 with a score of 2-1 in the final match, earning promotion to the First Division over Association Chorrillos. Following its promising entry into the First Division, KDT Nacional struggled, finishing in 8th place in the 1962 tournament, with 4 wins, 8 losses, and 6 draws.

After two seasons at the bottom of the table, it was relegated to the Second Division in 1964, having won only one match out of the 22 played that season. In the 1967 Second Division, KDT Nacional won the championship again, over Independiente Sacachispas, and was promoted to the First Division, where it remained until the 1969 Descentralizado tournament. In that year, it finished last in both the first stage and the relegation round, losing its category. In the Second Division, it only competed in the 1970 edition, as it was relegated along with Huracán San Isidro, returning to the Callao League.

Rosa Ana Berríos Orúe, known as Pochita Berríos, who led the club from 1986 to 1990

From 1986 to 1990, KDT Nacional had the first female president in the history of Peruvian sports, Rosa Ana Berríos Orúe, known as Pochita Berríos, who led the club to its first championship in over 22 years by winning the District League in 1987. After also winning the Departmental League of Football of Callao, it participated in the Regional Stage of the 1988 Peru Cup, where it competed in Region IV alongside Sport Puerto Aéreo and Bella Esperanza but failed to return to the Second Division.

In the following decades, KDT Nacional struggled in the lower ranks of the Callao League until, in 2003, Mr. Wenceslao Miller decided not to present the team for the Second District due to a lack of financial guarantees, as he was the only person ensuring the institution's maintenance and well-being.

On November 15, 2013, after a long meeting between Mr. Wenceslao Miller, businesswoman Fanny Rodríguez, and coach Juan Carlos Rodríguez, the club's resurgence was officially announced. In the following years, KDT Nacional participated in the Bellavista-La Perla District League, aiming to qualify for the Callao Superior League and, eventually, the Departmental League. In 2014, KDT Nacional prepared to face the district competition with a squad enriched with both experience and youth. After finishing in third place in the District League, KDT Nacional shared Group A of the Departmental League with Academia Cantolao (Bellavista-La Perla champion), Alfredo Tomassini (Ventanilla champion), and Estrella Azul (Ventanilla runner-up). After tying in points, KDT Nacional and Academia Cantolao played an extra match on September 21, 2014. The final score was in favor of Cantolao, who won 3-2 in an intense match. According to the fixture, KDT Nacional and Cantolao were supposed to play against different rivals, but an agreement was made not to play those matches and to automatically define the group winner in an extra match between the two.

In 2015, KDT Nacional finished third in the Callao District League and qualified for the Interligas, where it was eliminated in the first phase by Estrella Azul de Ventanilla.

The club achieved the runner-up position in the 2016 Callao District League and qualified for the Departmental League, where it was eliminated in the first phase by Alfredo Tomassini. Since then, it has not participated in official tournaments.
