The fast-growing city of Jam, has a relatively moderate, wetter climate, and is serving as home to workers at the nearby, but a very hot and dry, Kangan industrial complex. Jam is growing exponentially, and in fact, affluently. Most of the workers in the city and farms and gardens around the city, consist of Afghan migrant workers.[ citation needed]
