John Goldman, better known as Jack Murphy, is an American manosphere internet personality, writer, podcast host, and wellness guru.
Goldman graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts in economics. He later attended the Georgetown School of Foreign Service, earning a Master of Arts in International Affairs. [1] In 2009, Goldman began working as a senior consultant for multiple public charter schools in Washington, D.C. From 2011 to 2016, Goldman was paid more than $1.1 million for his work at two D.C. schools. [2]
Beginning in 2015, Goldman began blogging on his website, Jack Murphy Live. His writings ranged from lifestyle and career advice to conservative politics and gender dynamics. [3] Goldman often wrote about the benefits of masculinity and the negatives of feminism. Many of his writings have been described as racist and misogynist, which led some to associate Goldman with the alt-right. [4] [5] However, Murphy has criticized leading alt-right figures, like Richard Spencer, for their advocacy of White ethnostates. [6]
In January 2018, Goldman was publicly revealed to be John Goldman, a senior manager of finance for the D.C. Public Charter School Board. Goldman was doxed in a Twitter post by Lacy MacAuley, a left-wing activist. Goldman confirmed on his blog that Jack Murphy is his pseudonym. [7] Goldman's proximity to the alt-right and manosphere, resulted in calls for his firing. Goldman denied any involvement with the alt-right or white nationalism. [3] Murphy was placed on administrative leave in January, and by April, he was no longer employed by the organization. [2]
In June 2018, Goldman published the book Democrat to Deplorable. [6]
Goldman started his podcast, Jack Murphy Live, in November 2018. He hosted Republican politicians, conservative pundits, and manosphere internet personalities. Some of his guests included Aleksandr Dugin, Joe Kent, J.D. Vance, Blake Masters, Jack Posobiec, Mike Cernovich, Dave Rubin, and Bronze Age Pervert. Murphy hosted around 2 shows a month, from November 2018 to June 2022, when he stopped producing new episodes altogether. [8]
In 2019, Goldman founded the online organization, The Liminal Order. [9] The group is men-only and costs $99 a month to join. [5] The organization is marketed as a way for men to cultivate "healthy masculinity", help members network, and build generational wealth. [10] Murphy's website claims a membership of 500. [11]
Goldman was a 2021 Lincoln Fellow at the Claremont Institute. [1]
Goldman, under the name of Jack Murphy, launched a wellness alliance called Rebel Health Alliance. [12] The website boasts that it delivers a customized, ground up care plan that begins with your DNA and ends up with you feeling your best. It claims to be able to find the exercises, food, and sleep protocols that are specific to your DNA. This is not possible and does not appear to be founded in actual research.
Goldman is Jewish. [3]
In December 2021, it was revealed Goldman had authored a 2015 article detailing his experiences as a voluntary cuckold. He later admitted to producing amateur pornography, performing in homosexual solo acts as well as scenes with his girlfriend, and streaming it on the internet. [13] Many of his fans and conservatives on the internet ridiculed Goldman and accused him of hypocrisy. [9]
