Indrajit Prasad is Bangladeshi endocrinologist, academic and medical researcher. He is a professor and Head of the Department of Diabetes & Endocrinology at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). [4] He is specializes in medicine, diabetes, thyroid and hormone diseases [5]
Dr. Indrajit Prasad was born on January 2, 1976, and lived on Elephant Road, Dhanmondi, Dhaka. [6]
Dr. Prasad has earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Dhaka Medical College (DMC) in 1999. [7] Following this, he pursued further specialization in the field of Internal medicine and obtained the degree of Fellowship of College of Physicians & Surgeon (FCPS) from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS) on January 2006. [8] Then he obtained the degree of Doctorate of Medicine (MD) in Endocrinology & Metabolism from BIRDEM (Bangladesh Institute of Research and Rehabilitation in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders) on 2007. [7] He also completed Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (FACE) at 2015 from American college of Endocrinology in United States of America. [7] [9]
Dr. Prasad held the position of assistant professor in the Endocrinology department at Sir Salimullah Medical College (SSMC). [7] [10] Later he joined Dhaka Medical College and Hospital and served as an Assistant professor [11] and then assumed the esteemed position of Head of the Department of Diabetes & Endocrinology. [4] He assumed the role of a teacher for the Hypertension Certificate Course (CCH) in Hypertension and Research Center, Rangpur. [12] He is currently working as a Medicine, Diabetes, Thyroid & Hormone Disease Specialist at Labaid Specialized Hospital and Bangladesh Specialized Hospital. [13]
He pioneered the introduction of inferior petrosal sinus sampling in Bangladesh. [7] He is a life member of the Bangladesh Endocrine Society (BES) [14] [15] and the Association of Clinical endocrinologist & Diabetologist of Bangladesh (ACEDB). [16]
Dr. Indrajit Prasad has various contributions to the field of endocrinology through his research and publication endeavors. [17] He is one of the core editors of National Guideline on Diabetes Mellitus in Bangladesh.
