Harashta Haifa Zahra (born September 5, 2003) is an Indonesian beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Puteri Indonesia 2024. [1] [2] [3] She became the second Sundanese woman to win the title after Farhana Nariswari won it on the previous edition, she will now represent her country at Miss Supranational 2024 on July 6, 2024 in Poland. Harashta Haifa Zahra was born on 9 September 2003 in Garut Regency, West Java and grew up in Bandung, a provincial capital in West Java, Indonesia. [7] [8] She is the first of two children from parents of Sundanese descent, her father Ginanjar is an entrepreneur from Bandung and her mother Yeni Yuliani is an sports coach comes from Peundeuy, Garut Regency. She has a younger brother. [7] [8]
Harashta has completed her high school education from SMA Negeri 2 Bandung in the city of Bandung from 2017 to 2020. [9] [10] Currently, she is studying Environmental Engineering by pursuing her degree for Bachelor of Engineering (S.T.) from National Institute of Technology Bandung (ITENAS) in Bandung, West Java since 2020. Harashta started her beauty pageant career by participating in the Bandung Regency Mojang Jajaka Kabupaten Bandung regional ambassador selection competition in 2022, where she was selected as Wakil II as Mojang Kabupaten Bandung 2022. [7] [8]
In 2024, Harashta returned to beauty pageants by taking part in the provincial selection of participants for Puteri Indonesia Jawa Barat 2024 for the 27th Puteri Indonesia selection event at Graha Mustika Ratu in Jakarta, where she was finally successfully selected as the winner of the selection. [11] [12] After successfully holding the title of Puteri Indonesia Jawa Barat 2024, Harashta has the right to represent West Java province in the national level beauty contest Puteri Indonesia 2024. After successfully qualified as a provincial representative with the title Puteri Indonesia Jawa Barat 2024, Harashta represented West Java province in a national beauty contest Puteri Indonesia 2024 located in the Plenary Hall, Jakarta Convention Center in Central Jakarta on March 8, 2024, which coincides with International Women's Day. In the final round, Harashta was asked by the chair of the advisory board of the Yayasan Puteri Indonesia, Putri Kuswisnu Wardani about the role of women in accelerating nation development. She answered that "The role of women in accelerating national development is certainly very important and requires working together between women and men." [16]
At the end of the event, Harashta was crowned the winner, she was crowned by her predecessor Puteri Indonesia 2023, Farhana Nariswari Wisandana from West Java. [1] [2] [3] Harashta became the second Sundanese rep
resentative to win this title–also marking the first time the same province won for two consecutive years in the history of Puteri Indonesia. [4] [5]
Harashta is an activist, advocate, and environmentalist. She initiated the Mother of Nature program, a campaign that focuses on the issue of food loss and waste–motivated by food waste as the main influence in the problem of waste disposal in her hometown. [17] [18] [19] Along with her campaign, Harashta also serves as Indonesian Ambassador for Scholars of Sustenance (SOS), a Thailand-based non-profit food rescue organization–aimed at changing people's mindsets about food waste to reduce the impact of climate change and food insecurity.
