Description: The U. S. Marine Hospital of the United States Public Health Service is situated at Commonwealth Ave. and Warren St. on a 13 1/2 acre tract. The hospital has 336 beds for the treatment of merchant seamen, Coast Guard officers and enlisted men, Veterans, Civilian Conservation Corps and any other government employees injured in line of duty. The hospital was opened on June 6, 1940, and has all modern equipment.
