Giuseppe Bonaparte e dai consiglieri di stato Charles Pierre Claret de Fleurieu e
Pierre-Louis Roederer e la delegazione statunitense, composta dal presidente della Corte Suprema
Oliver Ellsworth, dal governatore della Carlolina del Nord Guillaume Richardson Davie e dall'ambasciatore Guillaume Vans Murray, un tempo siglato l'accordo, diedero inizio al grande ballo previsto per i festeggiamenti, cui parteciparono 1200 invitati, tra i quali
Carolina e
Paolina Bonaparte.
