DescriptionSpokane Street Bridge - view from east approach of swing span turned (2009).jpg
The Spokane Street Bridge, in Seattle, is a 1991-opened
swing bridge with two consecutive (as opposed to side-by-side) swing spans that move in unison when the bridge is opened for water traffic. This photo shows the east swingspan in the turned position, viewed from the east approach viaduct, looking west. The higher bridge in the background is the West Seattle Bridge, opened in 1984.
