English: Overlap and partitioning of OTUs among different plant compartments
This network-like Venn diagram shows the number of specific and shared fungal operational taxonomic units (OTUs) observed on the subtropical island shrub, Mussaenda kwangtungensis, across different compartments. Shared OTUs (839) between the root endosphere and rhizosphere accounted for the largest component (54.4%) of total OTUs, followed by 335 OTUs (21.7%) shared across the three compartments. Pairwise OTUs coexisting in leaf and root endosphere accounted for the lowest proportion (1.4%).
