DescriptionMilton Village Hall (former Congregational Chapel), Milton Road, Milton, Portsmouth (October 2017) (3).JPG
Milton Village Hall (former Congregational Chapel), Milton Road, Milton, City of Portsmouth, England. This was built in the mid-19th century as a Congregational chapel for the (then) village of Milton. Sources vary on the construction date: 1842, 1861 or 1874. In any case, it was replaced in 1913 by the Kendall Memorial Congregational Chapel on the opposite side of the road, and the old building was used as a church hall until 1925 when it became a Portsmouth Corporation branch library. In the late 20th century, after a new library was built nearby, it became a village hall and community centre.
