Hierbei quellen sie bis auf das vierfache der getockneten Samen auf. Die gewässerten Lupinenbohnen sind ein beliebter Snack im Mittelmeer-Raum und im Vorderen Orient. Im Handel sind sie unter der Bezeichnung 'Tirmis! erhältlich
