iranicaonline.org, Originally Published: 15 December 2010, Last Updated: 24, April 2012; also available in print: Vol. XV, Fasc. 5, pp. 530-533): "The stele was placed on the back of a stone tortoise (Moriyasu, Yoshida, and Katayama, p. 214; not on a crouched lion, as assumed by Radloff and later scholars) and was capped by a dragon surrounding a shield-shaped tablet. A round object like a ball was attached on the top. For the reconstruction see A. Heikel (plate III, facing p. X). [...] In 1890 A. Heikel visited the site, and he published the photographs in 1892."
