DescriptionHistopathology of diffuse hypercellular hyperplastic focus of thyroid, high magnification.jpg
English: Histopathology of a diffuse hypercellular (also called or microfollicular) hyperplastic focus, high magnification. H&E stain. As shown, it can have mildly enlarged nuclei with mildly clumped chromatin, and clear cytoplasms, but cellular characteristics of papillary thyroid carcinoma are absent. It is interspersed between surrounding unremarkable follicles, but the absence of a circumferential capsule distinguishes it from an invasive follicular thyroid cancer. The clinical diagnosis was toxic multinodular goiter.
