BAHRAIN (June 4, 2012) U.S. Navy divers assigned to Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit (MDSU) 2, Company 2-5, surface while training with the MK 16 MOD 1 underwater breathing apparatus. The MK 16 MOD 1 is a re-breathable underwater system that minimizes surface bubbles during operations. Company 2-5 is assigned to Commander, Task Group (CTG) 56.1, which provides mine counter-measure, explosive ordnance disposal (EOD), salvage-diving, counter-terrorism, and force protection for the U.S. 5th Fleet.
