España) Según el blasón: En campo de azur: en el jefe cuatro granadas de oro y en la punta franjas onduladas de plata. Armas de Paterna del Río: Los elementos que se han elegido han buscado la tradicional historia del municipio, presente en su rico pasado musulmán y la definición del espacio sobre el que se asienta la población. Cuatro Granadas:Se refiere a la organización histórica de Paterna, tal cual aparece descrita en los documentos más antiguos:"Las Paternas", en alusión a las cuatro alquerías que la componían: Haratalbolote, Haratalguacil; Haratalbenmuza y Guarros. Esta demarcación nazarí pervive y sus nombres se han castellanizado: Barrio de los Castillos, Fuente Castaño, Guarros y Barrio la Plaza.
Bandas de Plata: Representa al monumento natural más importante del municipio, el Río Paterna, ya que el municipio lleva el Apellido aludiendo al mismo.
