DescriptionDiagram-of-Bioenergie power plant with carbon capture and storage (cropped).jpg
English: Diagram of A . a bioenergy power plant, and B . a bioenergy with carbon capture and sequestration (BECCS) power plant. Plants remove CO 2 from the atmosphere while growing. If we harvest the biomass and burn it in a power plant we can generate electricity. With BECCS, we do not release all the CO 2 into the atmosphere, but we separate the CO 2 (capture) and store it underground (sequestration).
