Deutsch: „Das Stadtwappen zeigt im Schildhaupt in Silber (Weiß) einen schreitenden, doppeltgeschwänzten, blau bewehrten, blau bezungten und blau gekrönten roten Löwen; darunter ein von blau nach silber (weiß) 16-fach geschachtes Feld.“ 1969 wurde dieses Wappen, das 1936 dem Amte Menden verliehen wurde, von der Gemeinde Sankt Augustin übernommen. Es zeigt die Symbole der Grafen von Berg (Löwe) sowie die der Grund- und Burgherren von Menden (ein blau zu silbern geschachtetes Feld von acht zu acht Plätzen).
English: „The arms were granted in 1936 (officially to Amt Menden) and continued on February 15, 1979. The arms show in the upper part the lion of the Counts of Berg, as the area belonged historically to Berg. The lower part shows the arms of the Lords of Menden. “
