This icon image could be re-created using
vector graphics as an
SVG file. This has several advantages; see
Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{
vector version available|new image name}}.
It is recommended to name the SVG file “Chess bdl40.svg”—then the template
Vector version available (or
Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
The image was made with
xboard. The background color of the image was made brighter, and it was then scaled down using
imagemagick (mogrify) from a higher resolution 129x129 version, because xboard images are not
antialiased. Xboard is
GPL'd; I'm not sure about the technicalities of GPL/GFDL compatibility but this image is freely redistributable.
