French society during the
Dreyfus Affair. At the top, somebody says "Above all, let us not discuss the Dreyfus Affair!". At the bottom, the whole family is fighting, and the caption says "They have discussed it".

Caran d’Ache stellt die Zerwürfnisse in der französischen Gesellschaft zur Zeit der Dreyfus-Affäre anhand eines Familienessens dar. Im oberen Bild sagt jemand: "Vor allem, lasst uns nicht über die Dreyfus-Affäre reden!" Im unteren Bild ist die gesamte Familie in eine Schlägerei verwickelt und die Unterschrift sagt: "...sie haben davon geredet..."
