English: This tartan is Wilsons No. 3, also known as Caledonia (and apparently named that by Wilsons). There are several other setts by that name. This one was a "fashion" tartan by Wilsons, intended for wear by anyone.
This version of the image is exactly full-sett, and can tile horizontally and vertically.
Scottish Register of Tartans notes on this design: "This tartan was available in the 1820s alongside Caledonia No. 43 (later MacPherson), and No. 155 (Caledonia STR #467). All of them appear in Wilsons' 1819 pattern book. Wilsons of Bannockburn a weaving firm founded c. 1770 near Stirling. The pattern books are in the National Museums Scotland, Edinburgh."
This is a regular, mirroring tartan. SRT-provided thread count (in slash notation): /DP4 R26 A18 DP18 Y4 G24 R26 A6 R26/ or in bold notation: DP4 R26 A18 DP18 Y4 G24 R26 A6 R26 (where DP = dark purple, A = azure blue).
