Enormous tree, no way I could fit it in my viewer. It gives so much shade, and lots of these hard ball-fruits on the ground. I managed to get fruit AND flowers of this tree in the frame! (typical tropical - all seasons at once)
The fruit of this plant were used as candles by early settlers, hence it's common name -Candle Nut (info from bellingen1 photo)
Native to NE QLD Australia and to New Guinea.
Location: Mt. Coot-tha Botanical Gardens (near Dome), Brisbane, Australia
