I’ve been collecting several specimens of this species throughout late summer / early fall of 2016 in SW. Ohio.
Unable to key it to anything other than A. augustus.
Cap:Tan / light brown with fibrillose scales, becoming darker with maturity
Flesh: White; unchanging when cut.
Stem: floccose / scaly
Spore Print: Dark chocolate brown.
Odor and Taste: Faint almond odor, mild nutty taste.
Saprobic with Spruce.
