English: Shown is the first publication ever of the full image taken in April of 1888 by KUHNS' Photo outside the business establishment of Asa G. Candler & Co., 47 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA.
English: Standing in the open doorway to Candler's pharmacy, atop the stoop and leaning against the door frame of the building, is Dr. John Stith Pemberton, the inventor who created the Coca Cola recipe in 1886. To Dr. Pemberton's left, on the glass, the window letters read: "PEMBERTON'S - FRENCH WINE COCA - LEMON ORANGE E." In front of the main window which reads "Asa G. Candler & Co.," stands Asa Griggs Candler himself, holding a piece of paper in his left hand. This paper may be the contract agreement (now lost or destroyed), that was said to have been signed by the two at this time.
English: This photograph appears to commemorate the day Asa Griggs Candler purchased the remaining shares to Coca Cola Company from Dr. Pemberton, who died a few months later on August 16, 1888. This photograph was commissioned by Candler and taken by Kuhns' Photo to make a record of the historic occasion. However, in 1910, Candler ordered all corporate documents pertaining to this first Coca Cola incorporation, burned; further obscuring its origins. Candler did retain one copy of this iconic photographic image for himself, as his own personal property, and not property/ documents of the original Coca Cola Company he had ordered burned in 1910. Thus, this image shown, represents the only extant original copy that remains in the world.

Author
Original photographer in 1888 was "KUHNS' Photo" of "Atlanta, GA." The JPG image hereof shows first ever release of the full original image (that was lost for over fifty years), recently discovered and finally fully verified as being the only extant example, by RICHARD WARREN LIPACK, author. Information on computer files at Emory University, Atlanta, GA. dated March / April 2012, between RICHARD WARREN LIPACK and the Manuscript, Archives and Rare Book Library at Emory University, Atlanta, GA., corroborates that the original photograph from 1888 owned by RICHARD WARREN LIPACK was once the personal property of ASA GRIGGS CANDLER (who appears in the photograph along with Dr. John Stith Pemberton - the original inventor of Coca Cola), with full original mount showing the name "Kuhns' Photo.," of which a later mid-20th century copy Kodak "Velox" silver-bromide photograph (without photographer attribution), was taken from this original (the same original now uploaded to Wikipedia), that was published on page 68 in the book ASA GRIGGS CANDLER by CHARLES HOWARD CANDLER in 1950 by Emory University, Atlanta, GA. The original "1888 Asa G. Candler & Co." mounted albumen photograph, as of this date of uploading, is owned by RICHARD WARREN LIPACK. Such ownership is documented between RICHARD WARREN LIPACK and Research and Public Services Archivist Sara J. Logue of the Manuscript, Archives and Rare Book Library, which represents the Candler family archives thereof, at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. Reference archivists at the Manuscript, Archives , and Rare Book Library at Emory University believe that the "1888 Asa G. Candler & Co." photograph discovered by RICHARD WARREN LIPACK to be the same one reproduced in Candler's son's 1950 tome.
Also as a matter of record, ownership by RICHARD WARREN LIPACK of the original "1888 Asa G. Candler & Co." albumen photograph is recorded and on file with the legal department of The Coca-Cola Company, Atlanta, Georgia.
