At the 2006 National Census, its population was 2,681 in 617 households, when it was in
Marhemetabad-e Miyani Rural District of the former
Marhemetabad District of
Miandoab County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 2,546 people in 684 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 2,461 people in 726 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]
In July 2021, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Chaharborj County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with
Chahar Borj as its capital and only cityl.[4]
