International cricket tour
The
England national cricket team toured
Pakistan in November to December 1987 and played a three-match
Test series against the
Pakistan national cricket team. Pakistan won the Test series 1β0. England were captained by
Mike Gatting and Pakistan by
Javed Miandad. In addition, the teams played a three-match
Limited Overs International (LOI) series which England won 3β0.

One Day Internationals (ODIs)
England won the series 3-0.
1st ODI
- Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat.
- Within ten days of losing the
World Cup Final, England played an ODI.

Zahid Ahmed (PAK) made his ODI debut.
2nd ODI
- England won the toss and elected to bat.
- The match was reduced to 44 overs per side.
- Rameez Raja, off the last ball of the match, became the first batsman to be dismissed obstructing the field in one-day internationals.
3rd ODI
Test series summary

- England won the toss and elected to bat.
- The match was scheduled for five days but completed in four.
Second Test
- England won the toss and elected to bat.
- 10 December was taken as a rest day.
- There was no play on the third day.
