"a new golden age of mass sacrifice and unmentionable horror.”
" I want families to do more than just get by — I want you to get a head and consume it for nourishment.”
Equality Through Insanity programme;
decriminalisation of drugs to “end the war on mental exploration”;
the legalisation of human sacrifice (“As president, Cthulhu will eliminate these barriers to worship and grant true freedom to the faithful.”)
Foreign policy aims to lose any conciliatory face: “Peace makes your species weak. If you ever wish to be more than you are and be worthy to serve, flex those angry monkey muscles.”
Universal Health Control “from cybernetic surgery to genetic therapy” and even reanimation after death.
« Why choose the lesser evil [pourquoi voter pour le moindre mal, en anglais, ndlr] ? »
Ou bien encore ce détournement grinçant du populaire « Black Lives Matter » (« Les vies noires comptent ») : « No lives matter [aucune vie ne compte, en anglais, ndlr]. »
légaliser les sacrifices humains ;
poursuivre, « comme tous ceux avant lui », le réchauffement climatique ;
mettre en place un « plan économique simple » qui consiste à « manger les riches » (un délai est néanmoins accordé à ceux qui daigneraient rejoindre les rangs des adorateurs de Cthulhu) ;
What really fuels change are the sacrifices we make of people like you. We don’t have to accept a system that drowns out your voice. We can obliterate it. Join us.

Is the red tie a clue that this is the former president's true nature? I see from the article that author Stephen King suggested the same idea.

This article is new enough and long enough. The image is suitably licensed, the hook facts are cited inline, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. A QPQ has been done.

@
Gatoclass: Er - yes and no. I haven't looked at the current crop, but aren't there plenty of better ones for April 1? I rather like the image (tentacled horror in suit and tie - you have to admit that's pretty good!), and with the high level of competition that I understand usually shows for April 1, I am afraid it won't get the coveted image slot. If you think it has a good chance of actually getting the image slot, then sure. But if not, I'd just as soon take another day where the image competition would be less. I didn't write it aiming for the April 1 slot, I actually wrote it because it was a

All right then, if Gatoclass agrees (I know you can't guarantee it, but if you honestly think there is a good chance), then The Stars Can Be Right on April 1. --

First Year was 1992
The Cthulhu for President kit was first released in 1992, not 1996. But, I am leery of making the change without documentation; no need to start an edits war.
