William Edgar Cantelon (March 28, 1866 – March 3, 1950) was an Canadian artist, author and historian who lived most of his life at Doan's Hollow, Norfolk County, Ontario. He is most noted for painting buildings and personalities related to the early history of Norfolk County. It is estimated that he completed over 8,000 works in his lifetime. [1]
As the first Curator for the Norfolk Historical Society, he acquired many important artifacts and documents for the Eva Brook Donly Museum, Simcoe, Ontario (now the Norfolk County Archives).
