Rabbids is an upcoming American live-action/animated comedy film based on the fictional video game creatures of the same name, originating in the Rayman video game franchise. It was written by Matt Senreich, Tom Sheppard and Zeb Wells.
In June 2013, Variety reported that Ubisoft Motion Pictures was developing a Rabbids film. [1] On February 10, 2014, it was announced that Sony Pictures Releasing and Ubisoft Motion Pictures were teaming-up to develop a full-length feature film. [2]
On October 14, 2015, it was reported that Robot Chicken writers Matthew Senreich, Tom Sheppard and Zeb Wells would be writing the screenplay for the film. [3] The film will be a live action/stop-motion animation hybrid, with Stoopid Buddy Stoodios providing the animation for Columbia Pictures to release. [3]
On December 13, 2019, Sony Pictures was no longer developing, with Lionsgate instead distributing the rights to the film. [4]
