Pythian Temple, also referred to as Pythian Hall and Pythian Lodge, was at 3137 Pine Street in St. Louis, Missouri. It served as an important jazz hall where dancing took place and notable performers played. It was the "black community's major dance hall throughout the jazz age." [1] It was also the location where the Citizen's Liberty League was organized in 1919.
The Chaffeurs Club was next to it. [2]
Tom Uyeda spoke at the Hall. [3]
Organizing of a bar association for African Americans was planned at the hall. [4] The American Bar Association did not accept African Americans.
