Lord Silky was a hardcore punk band from Burlington, Vermont, USA active from 2008 until 2019. During the bands 11 years, Lord Silky released two EPs on their own DIY label Knitting My Doom that were produced by drummer/engineer Blevs Quadrata. The first in 2010, titled Dios Sedoso was a self-titled, nine track EP followed by a second in 2017 called We Used to be Friends, [1]which was later archived by Big Heavy World [2] in the Vermont Music Catalog [3].
Chris Farnsworth of Vermont-based newspaper Seven Days Weekly [4] magazine's described Lord Silky's live show as "45 minutes of barely controlled aggression, swagger and fun", adding, "They are a nonstop ball of thrash, epitomized by vocalist Josh Cause, who bellows atop punishing riffs from guitarist Eric C and a rhythm section laying down perfect, by-the-book hardcore devastation. J. Clemons and Blevs Quadrata — on bass and drums, respectively — are locked in and drive forward relentlessly." [5]
Dan Bolles of Seven Days Weekly wrote of the band, "They are loud, abrasive and confrontational onstage — front man Josh Cause is borderline impetuous. But they are also entertaining. They take not taking themselves seriously very seriously. The result is a band that has declared a thumb war on the self-righteous fervor that accompanies so much current hardcore music." [6]
Lord Silky shared stages with numerous legendary hardcore and punk rock acts such as Terror, Black Tusk, Pig Destroyer, Madball, Total Chaos [7], GBH, Dropkick Murphy's, 26 Beers [8], Sheer Terror, Awkward Thought, Kill Your Idols, Dropdead, Killing Time, Paint it Black and many more [9].
