Kenneth Stober is the co-founder and Group Managing Director of Simplifi Networks, a premier network and communications distribution company operating in East and Central Africa, which employs over ten local nationals
Kenneth was born Feb 12, 1962, in St Paul Minnesota to his parents Robert and Jana. He has two siblings, Ron and Tom. In 1982, Ken left Minnesota for Texas and lived in Texas until 1990. In 1990, Ken moved to Portland Oregon. In 2005 Ken relocated to Redmond Washington. In 2012 Ken set off on some work and adventures that took him to Haiti, Tanzania, and Uganda. In August of 2013, Ken moved to Kampala Uganda, where he currently resides
Kenneth had several jobs in Dallas Texas, most notable was Systems Engineer for 3Com Corporation In 1990, Ken took a job at Intel Corporation in Portland Oregon as they were starting the network division. Ken also held roles in Marketing, Product Management, Research, and Development, and worked with Intel Capital in the Asia Pacific markets Including Intel’s investment in PCCW. Ken spent time living in Australia and Hong Kong.
In 2005, Kenneth moved to Redmond Washington, and worked for Microsoft, working on programs in Unlimited Potential, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Surface, and Microsoft Mobile
In 2012 Kenneth was asked to go to Haiti to help rebuild their internet after the massive earthquake, Ken spent several months working in the remote locations across Haiti.
After Haiti, in 2012-2013, Kenneth worked for 10 months on a USAID project to bring computers and solar power to over 900 schools in Mtwara and Zanzibar. During that time he made his first visit to Uganda, which would change his life.
In Aug 2013, Kenneth relocated to Kampala Uganda, and in Jan of 2014 started Simplifi Networks. One of the leading distributors of network and communications equipment across East Africa. Ken is the founder, Group Managing Director, and CEO of Simplifi Networks
